This year's DrupalCamp Dallas is being hosted and sponsored by Improving Enterprises. We not only like Improving, we like love them. They first caught our eye as being agile experts, well known in the community as having top-notch training for scrummaster certifications. And then we discovered their continuing support and development of the technology community by doing things like this: running and hosting the Scrum User Group, co-running Dallas Presenter Mentor, co-organizing AgileDotNet 2008, presenting at Dallas Tech Fest, and this list goes on and on.

When they signed on for DrupalCamp Dallas we were ecstatic. One of the first pieces of advice we received when searching for a venue was to look for an environment that will increase dialogue among attendees. I really feel like we will accomplish that this weekend.

What was also perfect about Improving hosting DrupalCamp is the relationship the Drupal community has with agile development. It almost seems to go hand in hand. Drupal has so much functionality (as we all know) it would be unproductive to implement a long list of items in a fixed period of time (3-6 months) without the needs of your environment changing around you. Technology advancements and consumer needs change on an everyday basis. You can't ignore that. Agile development anticipates theses changes by continually evaluating the needs and priorities on a regular basis- instead of when it's too late. I guess that's enough on that - but really, stop by the Improving sponsor table and say hello! Gary McCants will be presenting on Sunday morning. Don't miss his intro to agile and scrum talk!

Oh, and check what they do on their website.

Improving has a special offer for all DrupalCamp attendees. Save 15% on Improving's Intro to Agile software development course and Improving's Scrum Master course. Simply go to www.improvingenterprises.com, click courses and sign up for the class, and they will contact you to be sure you get the camp discount.

About Improving Enterprises
Improving. It's more than a name...it's what we do. Since our inception in 2004, we have prided ourselves in the improvement of our people, clients, and services. Improving is an IT consulting and training company, dedicated to providing new and innovative solutions that provide true, sustained, and meaningful value to our customers.

Improving offers:

  • Certified Consulting - Improving’s certified consulting services challenge the traditional values that most staffing companies promote as their differentiators - price, resume, and response time. We promote comprehensive certifications, unconditional guarantees, detailed professional files (ProFile™), and measurable quality to assure that our clients have a consistent, reliable, and trusted consulting partner.
  • Recruiting Services - Hire from a Network not the Internet. Price, Resume and Response Time - although these factors are important, alone they provide little sustainable value to a business. Whether you're searching for contract, contract-to-hire or permanent placement services, you'll quickly see why Improving is the best choice for IT professionals - the difference is our network, interview process, and unconditional quality guarantee.
  • Applied Training - Improving specializes in creating situated, hands on, just-in-time learning solutions for our customers. We go farther than other firms, explaining how technologies, techniques, and processes can improve our customer's system development, architecture, and overall business value. We promote industry accepted practices and standards including Agile methods, the UP and the technologies and languages that support them. For a list of courses offered: www.improvingenterprises.com
  • Rural Sourcing - Rural Sourcing is a high-value, low cost alternative to local and offshore outsourcing. Improving has established development centers in remote, but major University communities, for example, A&M University in Bryan/College Station. By combining the best local talent from the University with senior, highly experienced consultants, Improving has assembled extremely productive and affordable development teams. In fact, this outsourcing alternative provides a blended rate that is much lower than local outsourcing, and competitive against traditional offshore.
